Several Departments likewise participate in the teaching and research study activities of interdisciplinary post-graduate programs in the institute in Photonics Science and Engineering and Materials Science Program. Minimum Qualification (Assistant Professor): Ph.D. with very first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc) at the preceding degree in the suitable branch, with a great academic record in all preceding degrees. Other information:
1. The pay brings all other allowances as admissible to a Central Civil servant stationed at Kanpur.
2. The advantages, such as LTC, medical re-imbursement, transportation allowance, kids education allowance, contribution towards New Pension System (NPS), re-imbursement of telephone bills, book grants, HRA (if real estate not provided), research initiation grant (as much as Rs 25 lakhs with the provision to apply for an extra grant) and financial support towards nationwide and global conferences will be permitted as per the Institute norms.
3. From its internal resources, the Institute offers an extra top-up income of Rs 25,000/- per month for the very first 3 years of service to the recently signed up with professor. After 3 years of service, the faculty member(s) are qualified for consideration for Young Faculty Fellowship (open for professors of age upto 40 years) supplying a top-up wage of Rs.15,000/- each month for three years, and/or Faculty Chair positions offering a top-up wage of Rs 25,000/- each month for three years. Both the positions are offered based on efficiency.
4. Traveling allowance for joining: The Institute will compensate worldwide travel costs for the freshly joined faculty member and reliant household members to the maximum limit of Rs. 1,50,000. Domestic travel compensation will be according to federal government guidelines.
